James Gandolfini (Jr.) managed to get his foot through the door after being in a Broadway adaptation to 1954 crime drama, “On the Waterfront.” Gandolfini’s movie gigs piled up from there. He has film credits in Money For Nothing (w/ John Cusack), A Stranger Among Us, Mr. Wonderful, Terminal Velocity (w/ Charlie Sheen), Crimson Tide (w/ Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington), and Get Shorty (w/ Danny DeVito, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo, and John Travolta).

Gandolfini’s film credits continue to extend all the way up until he lands a major lead TV role in the long-running and widely recognized drama series, “The Sopranos.” He’s best known by playing the character Tony Soprano.

James Gandolfini’s death (died in June of 2013) was exceptionally honored. Every building in New Jersey flew their flags in a certain way to honor his death. Additionally, a street was renamed after him, “James Gandolfini Way,” which can be seen in his hometown of Westwood, NJ.
